Evers Law Group
Three Decades of Experience
Evers Law Group represents three decades of experience in complex business litigation, real estate litigation and business transactions. The founding member of Evers Law Group has been practicing law since the 1980s and has litigated sophisticated legal issues in state court, appellate courts, and federal courts and he has arbitrated numerous matters before various arbitration associations. Our client base includes heavy equipment dealers/suppliers, farmers, physicians, developers, unions, investors, executive recruiters, real estate brokers, public utility districts, attorneys, medical suppliers, and various small and large business owners.
Evers Law Group also takes great pride in representing investors who have been victimized by fraudulent stockbrokers and brokerage firms before FINRA Dispute Resolution. Nor are we a stranger to administrative hearings, government regulation and the representation of public utility districts. Evers Law Group and its founder, Geoffrey O. Evers, have acquired and refined their knowledge and experience in the asbestos litigation arena as a by-product of representing numerous business entities that have been named as defendants in asbestos litigation or mass tort lawsuits.
Evers Law Group is committed to crafting cost efficient and innovative solutions to complex legal issues. Founder Geoffrey O. Evers is well known and respected for his pragmatic legal advice. We describe the options available to our clients, as well as the risks, benefits and costs, which afford our clients the opportunity to make meaningful decisions focused on resolving their legal issues.
Complex Business Litigation
Evers Law Group has extensive civil litigation experience in prosecuting and defending claims and lawsuits. In addition, we focus on early dispute resolution by mediating and/or arbitrating matters in effort to promptly resolve our clients’ legal disputes. We have represented parties in lawsuits which address issues such as breach of contract, unfair competition, non-compete clauses, trade secret violations, wrongful termination, partnership dissolutions, corporate disputes, fraud, negligence, intentional misrepresentations, conversion, sexual harassment, professional malpractice, contractor claims, asbestos, landlord/tenant issues, elder abuse and more.
Securities Arbitration – Investor Representation against Brokerage Firms and Stockbrokers
Evers Law Group takes great pride in representing investors who have been victimized by their stockbrokers and/or brokerage firms. Claims made by investors may include unsuitable investment recommendations, overconcentration, churning, failure to supervise employees, omissions and misrepresentations, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, negligence and unauthorized trading. Many of the packaged products offered by brokerage firms, such as reverse convertible securities, auction-rate securities and collateralized debt obligations, are extremely complex and investors are not always fully informed (if at all) of the extreme risks involved in investing in such instruments. We represent our investor clients zealously in arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, more commonly known as FINRA Dispute Resolution, and fight for the reimbursement of their ill-fated investment losses.
Real Estate Litigation and Contracts
Evers Law Group has represented buyers, sellers, developers, builders and other entities and individuals involved in the real estate market. This would include, but not be limited to, residential and commercial professionals, and as well ancillary participants in the real estate process such as home inspectors, loan officers and loan brokers. As in the business law practice, the fact that Evers Law Group has experience in drafting real estate contracts and related documents, results in cost savings to our clients because of the efficiency and knowledge gained in preparing and executing sales contracts, loans and other contracts inherent to the real estate industry.
Reputation
Evers Law Group and its staff have garnered a reputation with clients and opposing counsel over the years as a firm who is honest, forthright and to the point. Clients and opposing counsel have both come to appreciate the direct and straightforward approach taken by Evers Law Group in litigating or negotiating issues that arise between opposing parties. Not only does this approach assist opposing counsel and opposing parties in coming to a resolution sooner, again resulting in a savings of fees and costs, but such an approach results in a more honest and open discussion with opposing parties addressing their needs and wants.
Effective and Efficient Representation
Evers Law Group recognizes that its clients are like any other business and must be concerned with the expenditures of monies and how those monies are spent. At the outset of representation we will provide a client with an overview of what type of litigation is required, if any, and further how extensive that litigation will be. As well, Evers Law Group will attempt to provide some type of forecast as to the probability of success or failure so a client may then make an informed decision as to whether or not to incur legal fees, either small or large, in light of the potential of success and reward at the end of the line. It is important for a client to understand both risks and rewards when it comes to transactional work and/or litigation to ensure their monies are well spent.
